Technical Services

 Initial Problem Assistance:

As the majority of service requests we receive can be simply resolved by a process of elimination from our basic Radio Frequency EAS Equipment checklist, we firstly suggest running through the following:

CHECKLIST

TYPE OF FAULT: False Alarm, Low Detection, No Detection

FALSE ALARM

1. How often?
2. Are there any tags within 1 metre of the system?
3. Are there any coiled extension leads nearby?
4. Have sensors suffered any physical damage?
5. Have any large metal objects been placed near system?
6. Has any new electrical work been carried out?
7. Have any alterations been made to the store layout?

LOW DETECTION

1. What type of tags are they?
2. Have you tried testing with other articles?
3. Does the article have a lot of metal in it?

NO DETECTION

1. Is system switched on (are lights on control unit lit)?
2. Have you tried testing with other articles?
3. Do you use labels - if so, are they damaged?
4. Does the article have a lot of metal in it?

In the event of fault still being evident technical assistance may be required.

E.S.P. - Equipment Service Programme:

When the warranty on your E.A.S. equipment is approaching expiry or has already expired it's worth taking a serious look at Easitag's Equipment Service Programme (E.S.P.)

The Easitag Equipment Service Programme is a type of insurance policy against incurring heavy expenses for breakdown and/or repair costs. Although dealing with Easitag you'll find the LUCATRON, CHECKPOINT and ACTRON equipment all have reputations for reliability, it would be desirable to allow for certain maintenance costs, as with any form of business equipment.

The Equipment Service Programme offers the most efficient method of maintaining your valuable investment. For one annual fee, Easitag carries the risk and provides you with unlimited service as required throughout the year. Subscribers to the Easitag E.S.P. receive a service that covers labour, parts and changeover printed circuit boards which in some cases can cost up to $3,000, a cost your business would have to bear if the equipment was not covered by our Equipment Service Programme.

The alternative to taking out an Equipment Service Programme is service on an "ad hoc" basis. For this service customers pay a minimum call out fee and 1st hour basis plus parts, as well as travel, and any necessary changeover printed circuit boards.

The Easitag Equipment Service Programme makes good business sense in that your E.A.S. equipment maintenance will be a fixed annual cost and give you peace of mind.

If you wish to receive a quotation for an Easitag E.S.P. for your store's EAS equipment please click on the link below, print the form, sign it, & then fax the E.S.P. application form.
